The rubberized strips are for the engine compartment, the square ones with 4 leds are for the footwells, and the baggies have led bulbs for the map  light.  I bought 2 different types to see which works better.

Color?

I only LOOK pregnant.  Yes Nod

I put the map light bulbs in tonight.  This kind worked best, the WLED-x5 LED on the very bottom of the page,

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/commerce.cgi?product=CAR

They lit up the whole interior quite nice.

I think I can wire it up so when I open the door, the footwell, maplights, engine lights and windrestrictor all come on, then fade with the map lights.  And I'll add in a switch so I can fire them on at will and leave them on.

Heaven help me, I'm going Fast & Furious...

Hal,

Do keep us posted. When you get it all done, we'll need the step-by-step (with photos for the visual learners Grin) on how we too can become well-lit (and furiously fast GLOL ).

SLOOWwwwwww progress report.

Pulled some wire into the trunk by using the hole made when you take out one of the bolts in the back of the waterfall compartment, and fish a wire down between the trunk firewall and the interior panel.

Had to undo both screws and pop out a couple of the fasteners at the top of the panel to get some wiggle room for the wire 'fishin'.

Here is the fuse tap I bought at autozone, 7 bucks, make sure to get the 'mini' or 'ATM' size.

I'll be tapping position 27 in the passenger floorboard fuse block.

Allrighty then,

Here's the BCM disconnected with the cover off.  The map light ground is position A10. Many thanks to Hoosier GXP on the big board for showing you can tap into this and get your footwell lights to fade. You can also see my fuse tap for the positive power in fuse position 27.

By wiggling the wire I found it again down the bundle where I could tap it.

I added my footwell lights to the bottom of the snap-in footwell dash closure pieces.

One note, most of these LED lights do not play well in series, at least not for me.  So basically you run wiring to your farthest light, and tap everything else into those wires in parallel.

Heres the final vid.

OK, Hal. I was looking at the maplights at lunch today. How do I remove the stock bulbs? My fat little fingers can't seem to get good enough purchase to get them out.

a long thin flat blade screw driver.  VEEEEEEEERY carefully slide it past the bulb and try to pry it out from the backside.  Scary stuff, but mine popped out like missiles.

On one side you can kinda come in from an angle using a separate hole between the silver reflector and the black case.

They do not twist, they just come straight out.

OK. My LED bulbs do not get here until next week. I'll try my hand at it then. I was thinking about using some forceps with plastic coated tips that we have in the lab.
